This was a comfort

I have guessed for quite some time that teachers that are not satisfied with the current available software. I am not suprised to read that teachers have tried to create educational software (even with their limited amount of available time). The website I am presenting today felt like it was written for me! The author offers guidance on ways that educational software can be created or at least improved. The final section of this article walks the reader through how to start a PowerPoint for an interactive educational tool. In all honesty, I wish I had found this before last week's assignment was due (it would have helped me a bit).

Even with all the time I spend on the computer, I still find more ways to use the programs that I use everyday. I still get so amazed at all the things even the most common programs can do! Thanks to this author, I now know the names of some software programs that can possibly assist me with creating the software I know I will need for my school.

Great reference, I too wish I had it before last weeks assignment :)
I find frequently that many educators do not know about open source software, such as is available at:

Tobie,
I thought I had searched everything looking for a tutorial like this. My new computer has Microsoft Office 2007 (which is not compatible with older versions of the software and nothing is arranged in a logical manner.) Creating our interactive Powerpoint took my 9 days of agony and I still had to go buy a $50 book to teach myself how to use the new version of powerpoint.

The link you provided will come in very handy in my classroom. I am trying to establish computer based learning that is friendly to the needs of students in special education programs. Thanks for sharing this resource!

Thanks for the information! Adobe (formerly Macromedia) also has another software that can be used for education which I use on my job called Captivate. You can save your Captivate file in a format than can also be viewed on a mobile device using Adobe Flash Lite. Also, you can get a lot of the software and books you need for free or at a substantial discount because you are a school teacher.
